A free business waste management event will take place in Hawick next week.
Companies in the town will be offered advice on how the new Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 will affect them and this event will explain regulation changes and what local businesses need to do with their waste and recycling.
Urging local business owners to attend, environmental services portfolio holder Davie Paterson said: “This is an excellent opportunity for business people to find out more about new waste regulations. I will be attending this meeting and officers from the council’s trade waste team and business advisors from Business Gateway will be on hand to answer any questions companies may have.”
The meeting is at the Heart of Hawick on Thursday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. All businesses and organisations – whether they use the Council’s Trade Waste services or not – are invited to drop in and learn more.
