Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in at the Indian restaurant in Teviot Crescent.

The incident happened at Khan’s Restaurant, which is in the former Gretel Bar premises, between 11pm on Monday and 9.30am the next day.

During this time entry has been gained to the property. However, it does not appear as though any items were taken.

Officers are now progressing this enquiry under Operation RAC and are urging anyone who can assist with their investigation to come forward.

Chief Inspector Kenny Simpson told the Hawick News yesterday (Thursday): “We are keen to trace those responsible for this incident. And we would urge anyone who was in or around Teviot Crescent on Monday evening or Tuesday morning who saw anything suspicious to contact uson 101, or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
