Hawick MP Michael Moore has welcomed the news that STV’s independence debate on Tuesday will be broadcast live across the whole of the ITV Border region, allowing Borders to watch regardless of whether they are with Sky, Freesat or Freeview.
The debate will feature two three-person panels representing the Yes and No camps, members of which will discuss key issues in the campaign.
Mr Moore told the Hawick News: “I’m delighted, as no doubt local residents will be, that the STV debate on September 2 will be broadcast live across the whole of the ITV Border region, allowing Borderers to see the debate regardless of whether they are watching on Sky, Freesat or Freeview. I also welcome the news that ITV.com will be broadcasting the debate online.
“Following the first debate on August 5, a number of residents got in touch with my office to highlight their disappointment at not being able to watch the event via Sky or Freesat, despite living north of the border.
“I’ve been in communication with ITV on this and I’m pleased to see they acted on these concerns to ensure Scottish Borders residents can watch the debate hassle-free on Tuesday night.”
The ITV Border town hall debate in Hawick on September 10 will also be broadcast to the whole of the region.
