‘Steamie’ to hit town hall stage

THE Two Rivers Theatre Company is appealing for help in finding props for their forthcoming production of The Steamie in the town hall.

They are on the search for a small pushchair, a wicker-style laundry basket on wheels, old tin baths and any old aprons (cross-over style).

The play, by Tony Roper, with music from Dave Anderson, was enjoyed by all those who saw it in May 2006.

The characters of Dolly, Doreen, Margrit, Mrs Culfeathers and Andy would “bring a tear to a glass eye” with their stories of their families, dancing the tango at the Barrowlands, the baths at Whiteinch and Hogmanay.

The performance will run from Wednesday, April 13 to 15. Tickets are available at ILF Imaging, Sandbed, priced £5. Anyone who can help with props should contact 376242.
