Plea goes out for more help at this year’s Party on Pitch

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help out at next month’s Party on the Pitch event.

The highlight of this year’s Summer Festival celebrations is being held on Saturday, August 20. And festival committee members are calling on townsfolk to offer assistance.

Organising secretary Graham Ford said: “In recent years the event has continued to go from strength to strength. As a result of our success we are always on the lookout for volunteers to help us.

“As a committee of 14 we’re heavily stretched on the day and we are asking members of the public or perhaps a local group to step forward to help.

“People available, even for as little as two hours, would be a huge assistance.

“In return they would be given free entry to the event for the entire afternoon.”

The family music day, which will feature live bands –Shtumn, Five Dollar Shake, Rocking Horse – plus X-Factor Boot Camp act Chris Tame and Take That Reunited, runs from noon to 8.30pm.
