Curtain to rise on Christmas Carol

THE cast of the high school’s A Christmas Carol are ready to put on a show-stopping peformance next week after their production fell victim to the weather.

And townsfolk are being urged to go and enjoy the festive musical, which will see a cast of 40 take to the stage .

Musical director Jim Letham said: “We are keen to sell as many tickets as possible with all the additional expensed involved in rearranging the show.”

But for tickets already purchased, he explained: “Tickets are valid for the revised dates with last Wednesday’s tickets now valid for Monday, Thursday’s tickets valid for Tuesday, and last Friday’s tickets now valid for Wednesday. The starting time is also now 7pm instead of 7.30pm.”

If the revised date isn’t suitable, tickets can be exchanged, subject to availability, at the high school.

The performance of Alan Menken’s musical will represent the Scottish premiere of the show, and Mr Letham added: “This is a hugely challenging show as it’s continuous, with dialogue synchronised to background music and promises to be a huge hit.”

Tickets are available from the school office, priced £5, £4 and £2.
