Burnfoot’s concert for ‘Big Eight’

BURNFOOT Community Council is preparing to welcome Cornet Davidson and his Party at its annual Common-Riding concert on Thursday night.

And it will also be a very special occasion for one lucky boy and girl from the estate, with the eagerly-awaited picking of this year’s Carnival Cornet and Queen.

Master of ceremonies Derek Inglis will oversee events, which will include a performance from the school choir as well as turns from some of the town’s finest entertainers.

Along with the entertainment, food will be served and there will be a licensed bar.

The concert gets under way at 7pm in Burnfoot Community School. Entrance is £2 for adults and £1 for children (pay at the door).
