Rehearsals for Berwick Amateur Operatic Society’s 2012 show ‘Annie’ start on Wednesday, November 9, so if you’ve ever fancied showing off your vocal talents on centre stage or in the chorus, or even helping out backstage, now’s your chance to shine.
The timeless tale of little orphan Annie is back, an ageless and well-loved production that gives everyone the chance to experience this classical musical about never giving up hope.
Boasting one of Broadway’s most memorable scores, including ‘It’s the Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, NYC’ and the ever-optimistic ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Annie’ is a delightful theatrical experience for the entire family.
Berwick Opera has been bringing magical musicals and productions to the local stage for more than 90 years. Hundreds of talented people have entertained audiences in that time, and the operatic society is hoping that there are more of you out there just waiting to show your theatrical side.
The society welcomes back Kathryn Curry to direct this production and Diana Harris as musical director. Rehearsals will start on Wednesday, November 9 at 7pm in the main hall at the Community Centre, Palace Street East, Berwick. Auditions will be the following week.
This show is not to be missed, so if you feel you have what it takes, don’t pass up the chance to go along and find out what is involved – perhaps in a matter of months you could be on The Maltings stage participating in an amazing show.
Please note that these rehearsals are for over-16s only. Separate arrangements for children wishing to take part will be announced at a later date.
