HAWICK YM have revealed their new coaching set-up for the forthcoming season.
Jammy McFarlane, who has led the Redskins to two successive promotions, will remain as head coach and will be joined by Davie Grant (backs coach), Gerry McGuinness (forwards) and Brian Hislop (scrum).
McGuinness took Hawick to promotion in 2010 and was sacked by Peebles at the end of last season after relegation.
However, he admitted he’s looking forward to working with some familiar faces.
He told the Hawick News: “I’m excited about coaching the YM. I’ve worked with both Jammy and Davie in the Borders pathways set-up and I’ll be going back to coach a lot of the boys I coached through the Wanderers and PSA.”
The Mansfield Haugh outfit, who could be set to lose a number of players to neighbours Hawick, kick off their RBS Championship ‘B’ campaign on August 25 with a home match against Kirkcaldy.
McFarlane, who was named RBS Coach of the Year last season, said: “I’m delighted with my coaching staff.
“I like to surround myself with people who know what they’re doing and we certainly have that.”
Hawick YM entertain Gala in the first match of the Border League on August 15.
