HAWICK High School’s Under-16 squad is heading to Murrayfield to play in the Brewin Dolphin National Bowl Final.
The teenagers booked their spot following an emphatic 34-0 win over Biggar High School with tries from Ryan Elliot (2), McAuley Trotter, Craig Glendinning, Aiden Anderson and Colin Richardson.
The side, who have scored over 30 points in each of their last three games, will now face Madras College in the final.
Coach and PE teacher, David Marshall said: “They fully deserve their spot in the final. Since the turn of the year the boys have been working a lot harder as a team on the pitch and playing an exciting brand of running rugby.
“Not many people get a chance to play under the shadow of Murrayfield with SRU and Edinburgh professionals watching on, so this is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for this group of boys.
“Hopefully this will give them the drive to get back there one day, maybe with a semi-junior or senior Hawick side, if not with Edinburgh or Scotland.”
The final is scheduled for next week but may be put back in order to accommodate elite Under-16 matches.
