The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty after Quins were caught offside in Saturday’s friendly match.
This gave the Teries a wake-up call and Scott Anderson scored a try, followed by Gavin Douglas who chased his own kick through to notch his side’s second touchdown, which was converted by Adam Hall.
Quins vice-captain Craig Kyle was next to get in on the scoring act but was injured in the process and had to come off.
Two more tries before half-time through Neil Davidson and Anderson, and another conversion from Hall, saw Quins leading 29-3 at the break.
The second half started with Gala reducing the deficit with their first try of the game. However, it wasn’t long before Quins got back in the scoring groove courtesy of a quick-fire try brace from Scott Peffers, one of which he converted.
Mark Young touched down for the homesters’ final try before the referee blew for full-time.
n Last Saturday (October 3), Quins beat Langholm 41-19 in a friendly at Milntown.
n Quins would like to Stu Barker for his kind donation which will go towards a match ball. The club took Stu down to Wales the last time they were there.
