Stuart Easton claimed his first piece of MCE British Superbike silverware since 2010 in round three’s Oulton Park event.

And the Hawick PBM Kawasaki rider is seeking further additions to his trophy cabinet this weekend at the Snetterton raceway.

Easton battled hard at the Cheshire circuit, narrowly missing the podium in race one before hitting back on his second ride, holding off JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Ellison and teammate Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, to secure his first victory of the season.

Since returning to BSB in 2013 the 31-year old has struggled to mount any real consistent podium finishes, but after starting 2015 in blistering form, Easton is in a confident mood ahead of this weekend’s ride.

“It was good for me to be competitive and I feel that we have been all season, it just showed more at Oulton Park,” said Easton. “I think the happiness I had last weekend was from being able to push the front guys and really challenge them.

“It could have been any one of the six of us who could have won that race. Hopefully we can do it again before too long.”

Easton’s eyes are firmly set on maintaining his form this weekend at a circuit that has a history of not being kind to the Scot.

“Yes, Snetterton is probably my least favourite circuit in the series, but at the test there two weeks ago I made good progress to finish eighth fastest, so the aim is to keep progressing and remain competitive on the day.

“I am more confident than ever and feeling good on the bike just now so let’s see how going around my bogey circuit goes.”

Easton added: “The first three rounds have been good to me so far. I am sitting fourth on the points which puts me in a good position for the main goal of making it into the showdown at the end of the season.”
