The Teviotdale club’s four-rink gents’ team lost by 85 shots to 70 in Saturday’s fixture against East Fife at Methil.
The early stages saw Hawick hold their own in three of the four individual contests, but one squad were a few down and after nine of the 21 ends the score was 29 shots to 41 for the home outfit.
With 18 end played, Teviotdale were winning two of the games, with one squad seven down and the other rink 15 shots in arrears. However, only 18 shots separated the sides at 58-76.
Over the final three ends, the visitors outscored East Fife by 12 shots to nine to close the deficit to 15 shots and although defeated the Teries were always in with a chance of success. Top quartet for Teviotdale comprised Andrew Dickson, Charlie Paterson, Graham Brownlee and Chris Macdougall (skip).

On Saturday, the leisure centre men play host to Headwell at 2pm. The team will be picked tonight (Wednesday) and posted on the club noticeboard.
After their mid-season break in the league, Teviotdale’s seniors resumed their campaign last Wednesday against Balbardie, of Bathgate, who were seeking revenge for their defeat earlier in the season at the leisure centre.
And it was the Bathgate club who triumphed this time, but the end result – 73-56 – somewhat flattered them.
