The autumn orienteering season is now in full swing and a large contingent from Roxburgh Reivers secured a nice haul of trophies at the east of Scotland championships at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry.

There were wins for Pauline McAdam W60, Cathy Rooney W55, Sarah McAdam W21 and Barry Veitch M40. Ian Maxwell was second on M55 after leading for much of the race, and Sam McKinnon deserves a mention for running up to a more difficult course than his M14 required and coming second.

Lindsey Knox travelled to Chester for the latest round of the UK Urban League which consisted of a tricky morning sprint round the streets, walls and canals of Chester followed by a sprint round an army camp in the afternoon. Beaten by her nearest rival by 22 seconds overall leaves Lindsey in second place in the league with four rounds to go.

The first in the local forest series of events is at Selkirk Hill tomorrow (Saturday). More details at www.roxburghreivers.org.uk
