TEENAGE Teri Lauren Grant is proving a huge hit on the hockey pitch.
The 14-year-old, who is vice-captain of the high school’s S3 hockey team, captained the South of Scotland Under-15s in their match against Dumfries and Galloway on Sunday at Peffermill. Not only did the South win the match, which was a trial for the forthcoming Schools Inter-District Championship next weekend, but Lauren, who started as left striker and finished in central defence, scored the opening goal in the 4-1 victory.
High school PE teacher Sarah Knox said: “Her attitude is first class and her workrate on the pitch is excellent.”
Lauren has been selected to represent the South at next Sunday’s competition at Peffermill.
