Sunday saw a seven-strong contingent from Teviotdale Turbos and Hawick Amateur Swimming Club in action at the Haddington Total Swimmer Meet.

The first event of the day was the 100m individual medley, in which Lynsay Boyle, Mairead Cottrell, Eilidh Jaffray, Lindsay Jack, Jenna Amos, Rachel Sharp and Emma Suddon all swam well.

The backstroke was next and again all the girls did themselves proud and produced some great personal best times.

Mairead then won her heat in a great breaststroke race, while the butterfly saw Jenna Amos emerging victorious in her heat in a good pb, and Rachel also doing well with six seconds off her pb.

In the freestyle race, Lynsay gave a good account of herself, knocking five seconds off her pb in the process. Rachel also had a great freestyle time which earned her third place overall in her age group.

Bringing the curtain down on the day’s racing was a 200m individual medley final for the top six swimmers in each age group, and Lindsay did well to clinch third spot overall for 10-11-year olds.
