Wilton Park and Hawick’s Paul Goldie has been crowned the club’s under-15 tennis champion.
The tournament, which was organised by committee member Richard Allott, saw some superb play by the youngsters, and also competing were: Martin Goldie, Sam Frizzell, Daniel Frankland, Marcus Brogan, Ronan Armstrong, John Lee Elder, Bryce Hume, Euan Welsh, Sophie Mitchell and Hannah Thompson.
Meanwhile, Wilton Park’s coaching sessions with Kate Bull and Jan Patterson are going from strength to strength, with the club’s 50-plus youngsters improving their skills in the game thanks to Kate and Jan’s tutelage.
The club continues to prove popular with different generations of Teries and the recent ‘All ages can play’ day was a huge hit. Matches took place on smaller courts using the club’s mini tennis equipment, and the playing partners, between whom there was up to 40 years of an age difference, all had great fun.
