Forrest gives all at Potters Bar ‘worlds’

TEVIOTDALE bowls ace Julie Forrest has been battling on two fronts for title honours at Potters Bar this week, writes John Slorance.

Forrest, a six-time Scottish champion and a former world champion, had her work cut out against Scottish internationalist Alex Marshall, of Tranent, in the keenly-contested open world championship, and gave an excellent account of herself before being defeated by her opponent, who has also won the world title on five occasions.

Next for Forrest was the ladies’ world championship, in which an impressive first round win earned the Teri player a semi-final spot against current champion, Rebecca Field, from Lincolnshire.

Although tasting defeat again, Julie bowled well and made sure Field knew she had been in a match.
