Two friends from the Borders have shot to the top of their sport after travelling to different parts of the country.
Struan Brodie, 21, and Marc Watson, 23, both went to Jedburgh Grammar School and both developed a passion for clay pigeon shooting at the Midlem-based Braidwood Sporting Clays.
Brodie, a self employed wildlife manager from Denholm, headed to Southern Ireland to represent Scotland at the Home International match where he won the trophy for FITASC junior High Gun.
On the same weekend Jedburgh’s Watson, who is also self employed as a forestry worker, set off to The Whitegold Gamebore Challenge in Gloucestershire where he won the Silver Category and was involved in a brilliant shoot off against past world champion Ben Husthwaite. Watson shot exceptionally well and came home with £1000 prize money.
