Last Friday saw the ‘A’ team play their second league game of the week – a top-of-the-table clash against Melrose at home – and with heavy rain at regular intervals, it was the visitors who coped better with the wet conditions to record a good win by 90 shots to 71. Sunday saw the playing of the JHR Open Pairs competition, and after some very keenly-fought matches, it was Martin Christy and Scott Clarkson who emerged as winners, defeating husband and wife Les and Alison Clarkson in the final. Beaten semi-finalists were N. McAskill and A. Gentleman and B. Anderson and A. Anderson. Thanks to event sponsor Barry Scott, from Hong Kong, and J. H. Reilly for donating the crystal trophy.
