YOUNGSTERS from the high school have been jumping through hoops trying to gain success in the netball season.

The ‘A’ team finished second in the Aitken and Turnbull League for the Under-13 section, with the ‘B’ side only just finishing outside the medals in fourth spot.

Both teams are also competing in the S1 Scottish Schools Cup, which is run by Netball Scotland and will move into the second round this year.

The first round consisted of pools made up of local schools, and from the results of these games the ‘A’ team will move onto the knockout stages for the gold section and the ‘B’ team will contest the silver or bronze section.

Coach Nikki McArthur, who also teaches biology at the school, said: “Both teams have worked incredibly hard. All the girls are dedicated, enthusiastic and great fun to have at training and even give up their Friday lunch times to sort out paper work and other things.

“A huge thank you to all the parents for their magnificent support this year with training, fund-raising, transport and attendance at the games.”
