CYCLING star Connor Telfer won the South West Scotland Criterium Championship on Sunday.
And his victory at Dumfries was so convincing that the 15-year-old (pictured) managed to lap the rest of the field, not once but twice!
His dad Colin told the Hawick News: “Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the race, but by all accounts it was an impressive win.
“It was well deserved as Connor has started to train a lot harder.”
The top finish comes just weeks after Connor competed for Scotland in a rain-affected three-day road race event against England, Wales and Ulster.
Racing on the Saturday was cancelled after a number of accidents due to the weather and Connor finished 39th overall.
The high school pupil is now preparing to take part in the National Youth Circuit Race Championships tomorrow in Bradford, where he will be up against 100 riders on the course.
Connor would like to thank Border Cycles for their kind sponsorship. If anyone else would like to sponsor him, contact 378041.
