Minto golfers Mary Towers and Lesley Moore played in the SLGA Area Final at the Lochmaben course in Dumfriesshire for the chance to go through to the national finals. Mary (20) had a stunning nett score of 68 (gross 88), which was three under par for the course. She attributed her success to some excellent putting and is hoping that this continues in the national finals at the King James VI course, Perth, on September 7.
