IN an exciting encounter Linden defeated Cambuslang to stave off relegation.

From the off Nathan Murray, then Michael Graham had a pop at the line, with Gary Wardle diving over to score. However, the easy conversion was missed and then a penalty in front of the posts was squandered.

Then from a Linden attack, possession was turned over and Cambuslang opened their account with a try. But good pressure from the Linden forwards on their opponents’ line saw Craig Mitchell send Steven Bouglas in at the posts, Gavin Stirling converting.

Cambuslang grabbed another try, but Linden asserted their advantage with a second score for Bouglas, Steven Renwick converting. Not to be outdone back came Cambuslang with a try. However, Keith Mabon grabbed the bonus point try and despite a late Cambuslang score, they held on for the win.
