ZINZAN Brooke and Kenny Logan will top the bill of rugby greats of the past and present who will be sharing their experiences and thoughts on the impending Rugby World Cup at a charity dinner in aid of the Bill McLaren Foundation.
The drinks reception and dinner will take place on Thursday, September 8, at London’s Caledonian Club, the private members’ club in Belgravia known as “a little piece of Scotland in London”.
Bill’s daughter, Linda Lawson, told the Hawick News: “Dad had very fond memories of commentating on the first World Cup in New Zealand in 1987 and was hugely impressed by the passion for rugby in that country.
“He would be delighted that the Bill McLaren Foundation will mark the start of this year’s event with a dinner among rugby legends in the intimate setting of the Caledonian Club.
“It should be a night to remember.”
Players will also be sharing their stories of Bill during the evening.
Rugby stars scheduled to attend include Hugo Southwell and Gavin Kerr (Scotland), Nicky Robinson (Wales) and England and Lions legends Roger Utley and Chris Ralston. Tables of 10 are £1,500 or a ‘Players’ table, with nine guests and a rugby legend, are £1,750.
