JORDAN Taylor scored a late goal to help Edinburgh win the British University Waterpolo final in Walsall at the weekend.
Jordan and his team-mates edged the match against West England University 9-8.
And with three of the goals the 21-year-old sports science student ended top scorer for his side.
Played over four ten-minute quarters, Edinburgh were 8-4 going into the final quarter. But a rallying comeback from West England saw the scores level with three-and-a-half minutes to go, until Jordan took over.
He said: “At the time I didn’t expect that to be the winning goal. I thought they’d come back at us again, but we defended as hard as we could and with about a minute-and-a-half left I managed to steal the ball and I went as far down the pool as I could and just held onto it to run the clock down.
“I was absolutely shattered but it was an amazing feeling.”
Jordan is now preparing to represent his country at the Celtic Nations swimming competition in Belfast at the start of next month.
