Hawick Waverley 1
Relegation-threatened Hawick Waverley picked up a prescious point from Tuesday night’s match to avoid dropping out of Border Amateur Division ‘A’.
Commenting on matters, Waverley team boss Neal McConnell said: “The players stuck to their task and we got the result we were after.
“We had the better of the first half, but Greenlaw came more into the game in the second half and played four men up front. We were under pressure but we defended well. Greenlaw did score but it was two minutes into injury time.
“All of the players put in a good shift and this result has given them a lift for our cup final against Gala Fairydean Rovers on Saturday.”
Battling Waverley opened the scoring in the first half when Taylor Hope broke through and cooly rounded the Greenlaw keeper before tucking the ball into the net.
Waverley held on to their lead until Greenlaw snatched an equaliser seconds from time.
