United to the four at Hotspur

linton Hotspur 0

hawick United 4

United once again hit the high spots as well as the goal trail through this win.

It was Linton, however, who were first to catch the eye with some promising early attacks and United keeper Dean Fry twice put up the shutters with tip-top saves.

United, however, hit back to take the lead courtesy of an own goal. On being fed by a Sean Solley pass, Luke Shanley sprayed the ball to Kevin Strathdee. Having his first game since returning from a suspension, Strathdee then whipped over a cross and in a bid to clear the danger, a Hotspur man put the ball into his own net. The hosts then began to push for an equaliser but it was the Tangerines who did the scoring when Solley headed home a Scott Storrie corner-kick.

United kept up the good work by netting again. Robbie Kelly threadeing the ball to Kevin Strathdee and the striker drove in a shot.

United were not quite finished, though, and after Joe Wallace and Kevin Strathdee’s spade work, Ross Scott hit in a fourth.
