Legion fell behind in the early exchanges of Saturday night’s friendly against Rovers on the 3G pitch at Netherdale.

The home men, who sit top of the Border Amateur ‘A’ Division, took the lead through a somewhat soft penalty award.

‘B’ Division outfit Legion then had a great opportunity to draw level when being awarded a spot-kick. There was to be no joy for the Teries, though, as Callum Hope clipped the upright with his penalty attempt.

Legion created chances after this but midway through the second half they fell further behind when Gala scored again.

The hosts then went on to seal victory by netting a further twice.
