Hawick Royal Albert’s game on Wednesday with Heriot-Watt University, which had a 7.45 kick off was postponed due to a problem with the Albert Park floodlights.

Albert manager John Fettes said: “The players are gutted that the game was off. We had a squad of fourteen and the guys were looking forward to the match. However, the floodlights are not working properly and you can’t play in the dark. It’s as simple as that”.

Albert chairman Jim Borthwick said: “The lights on the stand side were just fine. On the faraway side of the park though there was a problem and the game couldn’t go ahead because of this. The problem is being looked at and hopefully will be sorted as soon as possible”.
