Hawick Royal Albert’s head of football operations Barry Campbell has quit his post, writes John Slorance.

Campbell, who arrived at Albert Park at the start of the season with new manger Mike Atai who has since been sacked, said: “I’ve tendered my resignation due to unresolvable differences with team manager Dean Shanks. It’s been a very progressive but now short journey from when I joined the club in the summer. I wish all the players, who are a great bunch of lads, all the best for the rest of the season. Also the Hawick committee as they are some of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve met in my time in football.”

Albert chairman Jim Borthwick commented: “There has been certain differences between Barry and the Albert manager. Due to this, Barry offered his resignation and this has been accepted. Hawick Royal Albert wish Barry all the best.”
