Border select postponement

SEVEN local footballers have been forced to wait to represent a Borders select side after a challenge match against a Lothian and Edinburgh side was called off due to freezing weather.

Hawick Waverley trio Dean McColm, Taylor Hope and Andrew Maltman and Legion skipper Callum Hope were set to join goalkeeper Chris Watson, Grant Robinson, and James Collins in the squad to play on Sunday at Netherdale, but the 3G pitch there is expected to be unplayable.

The Border select management entered negotiations with Border Sport and Leisure Trust, who operate the pitch, and the Lothian and Edinburgh association in an attemp to reschedule the game for next Sunday or the following weekend.
