Teviotdale’s men were hopeful of a good result at Fintry on Saturday, but were soon on the back foot as a quick carpet saw the hosts taking an early 31 shots to 16 lead.

However, the home side didn’t have it all their own way and theTeries closed the deficit to only four shots (40-44). Building on this platform, Teviotdale then took the lead after 15 ends at 62 shots to 61 ahead. The hosts regained their advantage and led by 75 shots to 68 with only three ends to play, and over the concluding part of this contest the Stirlingshire men notched another 11 shots, with the visitors only adding six to their total, to give Fintry victory by 86 shots to 75.

On the day, two visiting squads won but the ‘sweep’ winners were John Darling, David Reid, Peter Laidlaw and Stuart Bebbington (skip).
