Stuart Easton has vowed to continue his podium-finish form at Brands Hatch as he bids for an end-of-season showdown position.
The 30-year-old ace took a step closer to recapturing the form that won him the 2013 British Supersport Championship with a third-place finish at Knockhill at the end of last month and is targeting a similar performance this weekend at the Kent circuit.
Speaking to the Hawick News, Easton said:“The podium at Knockhill was a huge weight off my shoulders and I’m hoping I can carry that good performance into this weekend at Brands so I can keep as much pressure on those above me as possible.
“The last time out at Brands [round one] it was the shorter Indy circuit but this time around it is the full GP circuit which will hopefully help me improve on the two sixth-place finishes we managed in round one and gain some ground on the riders who are currently in front of me in the standings.”
The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider admits he is feeling revitalised ahead of a run of three races he has enjoyed success at and is confident his podium at Knockhill will not be his last.
“The next three circuits [Brands Hatch, Thruxton and Oulton Park] I really have fun riding at so it’s about getting my head down, working hard and getting the best out of the bike. If I can be consistent and stay with the top riders then the important showdown position will no doubt follow.”
Easton added: “I’m only 14 points off fourth place and not far behind the top-placed riders. [At Knockhill] I was only 0.06 seconds off first place so I know my bike is capable, I just need to build on a good race at Knockhill and add more podiums.”
