Andrew Dobbie bagged his second career hole-in-one in last Saturday’s Summer Cup over the Vertish Hill course.
The Hawick club golfer aced the 144-yard par three eighth hole with an eight iron – ten years after achieving the same feat in the same competition on the 18th.
“It was a free bar for everybody when I finished my round,” said Dobbie. “Something is not right when you get yourself a hole-in-one and you have to buy everyone a drink, it should be the other way round! he joked.
“I’m a very happy man to have had two holes-in-one, and the odds on me sinking another in the same tournament ten years apart must have been huge.”
