TERI teenager Bruce Connelly showed a safe pair of hands as he helped Carlisle City Under-16s to victory in the League Cup.
Bruce starred throughout the match against Morton Manor at Brunton Park, which the Sky Blues won 3-1.
The youngster, who turned out for Hawick Royal Albert towards the end of the season, made one spectacular save, diving backwards at full stretch to top a shot over the bar.
Bruce said: “I really enjoyed playing in front of a large crowd in a professional ground, the pitch was like a carpet. And it was a good feeling going up to directors box to recieve the main trophy.”
It proved to be a great few days for Bruce who was named East of Scotland side Kelso United’s most improved player at their annual awards night.
