BILLY Lilly admitted clinching the league title on Saturday was the highlight of his rugby career.The former Hawick Wanderers and Greens star, pictured, has led from the front this season as captain of the Redskins.
And as he enjoyed the champagne celebrations at Coatbridge on the final whistle, he said: “This is the best moment in my rugby career by far. It’s an absolutely brilliant feeling. It’s been a hard season with hard training, and it’s paid off for the boys today.”
And he paid tribute to the team spirit, which made the success possible. He added: “We’re all mates, we play for eachother and we train for eachother. We work hard and we drink hard, it’s as simple as that.”
