Thanks from Linden ladies and Scouts

We would like to thank everyone who attended the ladies’ day at Hawick Linden RFC on December 5. Also to all the local shops for their kinds donations for our raffle, which raised £375 for Simba. A big thanks to Thorterdykes Roadhouse for the use of their hall when we had to evacuate the clubrooms at the Volunteer due to the floods. We hope everyone had a good time.

This year was the 25th year of Christmas card deliveries in the Hawick area on behalf of local Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, and we are delighted to say that the fund-raising effort has been a great success.
Despite atrocious weather, which resulted in some parts of our town suffering appalling floods, Hawick people turned out in impressive numbers to support our charity.
Thank you to all concerned. Firstly, we would like to thank townsfolk who brought their cards to the Congregational church hall on December 4-5. Secondly, many thanks to all who came to the Scout headquarters to help with the sorting and bagging of cards. And thirdly, well done to all our supporters who have, again in dreadful weather, delivered cards all over Hawick.
Thanks to the generosity and hard work of all concerned, including the group leaders and helpers who turn out each week, Scouting activities will continue to thrive in Hawick.
We could not have guaranteed this without all the above help.
