I found it quite astonishing to read in last week’s Hawick News that the new food waste collections are to be transported to Fife or Lanarkshire.
Garden waste collections were stopped, so why is it even feasible to be able to afford transporting our food waste to other regions? I can’t make any sense of this idea at all.
The strange thing is that in Fife their food waste goes in the same bin as their garden rubbish!
