In recent weeks I have read letters to the editor of the Hawick News expressing doubts about the financial viability of the Great Tapestry of Scotland Project. Try as I may I simply cannot find anyone who wants this millstone hung around our necks.
TV tells us that the Borders region needs to save £24million. We also see Scottish Borders Council leader David Parker on TV wanting to increasing the rates burden on all of us
Is it not as simple as this: Cancel the tapestry project and save £3million straight away. It would be a good start as we simply cannot afford it.
