I write in reference to your article in last Friday’s edition, in which Councillor Davie Paterson makes very serious and damning allegations that he has been “lied tgo an misled” by Kenny Stuart, the owner of the fun fair that has arrived in the Haugh.
Of course, I don’t think for one minute that Mr Stuart is guilty of any of these allegations or of any wrongdoing, because these stupid comments by Mr Paterson will be viewed purely as yet another stunt by him to grab a headline or two.
You have to ask that by making these stupid allegations, is this not the pot calling the kettle?
When the same councillor placed himself on record in this very newspaper several months ago telling all and sundry that he would not support one penny of public money being ploughed into the Great Tapestry of Scotland at Tweedbank, and then went and voted for this ludicrous waste of public cash.
Because of Mr Paterson’s actions, I, too, feel lied to and misled. Hence, why my family won’t be voting for him next time around.
Not only has Councillor Paterson lost the plot, he has also lost the support of his constituents.
