A severe weather warning is in place for the Borders for snow and ice until 11am tomorrow (Friday).
Scottish Borders Council (SBC) is in regular contact with the Met Office and other partners including Police Scotland to monitor the situation.
Frequent showers will continue to fall as sleet and snow especially on higher ground but occasionally down to lower levels, too, and temperatures will stay low. As a result, there is a risk of some travel disruption.
SBC gritters have been out in force and will continue to work across the region today, tonight and tomorrow morning.
In the morning, people should tune into local radio to check if there are any travel issues and especially any school transport cancellations.
