All roads will lead to Denholm next month when the village plays host to a walking weekend.
Following the success of last year’s joint hosting of the Borders Walking Festival with Jedburgh, the local team of volunteers have put together a packed weekend of walks and events on May 2-3.
The event will kick-off with a ‘Meet and Greet’ on the Friday night, then will feature three walks on Saturday and Sunday, including the Bonchester Three Peaks, Minto Hills and Fatlips Castle, for £5 each.
And with all proceeds going towards Minto resident Will Roberts’ Motor Neurone Disease Scotland Kilimanjaro appeal – it is hoped the weekend will be a success.
Mr Roberts, who will tackle the highest free-standing mountain in the world in September, said: “The festival was such a success that the committee has arranged a return visit opportunity. And their support of MND Scotland is fantastic.”
A folk concert will take place in the village hall on the Saturday night, and there will be a barbecue on the Green after Sunday’s final walk.
