Summer Festival kids’ day set for leisure centre

Next Saturday (August 15) sees the start of the Summer Festival’s Kids’ Weekend at Teviotdale Leisure Centre with the Flower Princess and Primary School Party Day.

Starting at 2pm, the event is sure to be hugely popular with children of all ages, and will comprise an afternoon of fun-packed activities including a bouncy castle, dance mats, face painting and a crafting corner. The day hits its high point between 5.30-6pm with the crowning of this year’s Festival Flower Princess, and this will be followed by a tea party held in her honour and a dico will take place between 6.30 -8.30pm.

Tickets, priced at £5 ,are available from Dobbie and Michie and Teviotdale Leisure Centre and will admit the holder to all of the events during the afternoon.

Closing date for buying tickets is Monday, so those wishing to attend next Saturday are being urged to snap up a ticket before they run out.

Organiser Gerry Monaghan said: “We’re hoping for a good turnout on the day and I would encourage everyone to get along to the event.”
