Summer festival band plea in bid to ‘keep events fresh’

HAWICK Summer Festival Committee is looking for bands who would be keen to perform at this year’s Hootenanny or Party On The Pitch.

The appeal has been issued by chairman Raymond Wood, in a bid to ensure the festival’s continued success. “We are trying to keep these events fresh, so we urge the public to get in touch with ideas, or any bands or groups they may like to see perform at these popular dates in the Summer Festival calendar,” he said.

The committee would also be interested in hearing from solo artists or small groups who may only be able to perform a few songs.

And Raymond added: “We have a strong team of 15, but we are always looking for new members to come up with new ideas.”
