Denholm will be a abuzz this weekend as it stages two days of walks and events.
Following the success of last year’s joint hosting of the Borders Walking Festival with Jedburgh, village volunteers have put together a packed weekend which, after kicking off with a ‘Meet and Greet’ tonight in the Auld Cross Keys, will comprise three walks each day.
There will also be a Denholm Folk Club concert in the village hall tomorrow night at 7.30– with proceeds going to Cavers resident Will Roberts’ Motor Neurone Disease Scotland Kilimanjaro appeal. Entertainers are Brillig, Pat Douglas, Humble Scribes, Shankend Mac and Inside the Whale. Tickets (on the door) £7 including supper. Bar facilities.
The weekend programme continues on Sunday with a barbecue on the Green.
Places on the walks can be booked at www.denholmandjedwalkingweekend.co.uk or by calling 870236.
