Stars to take stage in aid of military charity

THE line-up of entertainers for a special charity concert has been announced.

‘That’s Entertainment 2’ will bring together some leading Hawick performers as well as some rising stars for a one-off show in October to raise vital funds for Combat Stress.

Hosted by the PSA Male Voice Choir, the town hall event will also feature dignitaries from the army and local military personnel as guests of honour.

Paul Robson, Lois Niblo, David Paterson, Steve Brown, Russell Gillan, Hannah Adams, Siobhan Lightfoot and the PSA Choir are among the singers who will perform on the night, while the Shields Dance Group will show off a series of routines.

The event follows on from the hugely successful That’s Entertainment show, which was part of last year’s Summer Festival. The 2010 entertainment extravaganza was a sell-out and interest is already mounting over the sequel.

Producer Graham Ford said: “That’s Entertainment 2 is a step up from previous efforts and I’m pleased to announce that there will be several surprise guests – all of whom will delight the audience.

“The opening of the show will immediately grab people’s attention, while the finale will certainly help folk understand exactly who we are raising money for.”

Plans are also in hand to release a CD of local performers on the night, with all proceeds going to Combat Stress – the UK’s leading military charity, which looks after those suffering from a psychological condition related to their service career.

Tickets for the show, on October 28, are priced £6 (£4 concessions) and are on sale from LA Gems, Brydon’s Bakery and Restaurant and Deans and Simpson’s.
