The 30mph speed restriction in Wilton Park Road has been extended, following a region-wide speed limit review by Scottish Borders Council and the police, writes Jason Marshall.
The extension – which will see existing 30mph signage at the Walled Garden Cottage relocated southwest to include the Walled Gardens, the changing rooms and its associated parking area – was approved by councillors at last Tuesday night’s Teviot and Liddesdale Area Forum meeting.
Councillor Stuart Marshall said: “I think residents in this part of the world will welcome this.
“It [complaints about speeding motorists in Wilton Park Road] is something which comes across my desk quite often.”
The speed limit review was carried out in 2015, and Wilton Park Road was one one of 11 stretches of road in the Scottish Borders which was recommended by SBC for an adjusted statutory speed limit.
