THE SNP have unveiled Paul Wheelhouse as their candidate representing the Hawick area in the upcoming elections.
The nationalist’s campaign in Ettrick, Roxburgh & Berwickshire took a step forward following the formal adoption of Mr Wheelhouse at a function in the Weensland Function Suite.
Paul was proposed by Scottish Government Minister for Culture and External Affairs, Fiona Hyslop MSP (pictured) who stated: “Paul Wheelhouse and his team are working very hard to win this constituency. He provides a highly credible, articulate and determined alternative to both his main opponents.”
With 18 years experience in economics and education consultancy, he has lived in the Berwickshire area of the constituency for almost 11 years. Paul stood for the region in last year’s Westminster election; an election where he received widespread praise for his abilities as a candidate and increased the party’s vote.
Championing improving the lives of people in Scotland, he said: “I’m keen to tackle hidden poverty, the lack of well-paid jobs and affordable housing for many and the poor public transport.”
