Signs are good for new pub

PUB giant J. D. Wetherspoon has been given permission to erect illuminated and non-illuminated signs at its Bourtree Place premises.

Scottish Borders Council approved the application subject to a number of conditions being met.

The pub, which is to be called The Bourtree and is due to open its doors in the middle of April, has been given a Scottish building warrant, and work to convert the former Conservative Club building got under way this week.
